When I was in college I didn't have a drum kit. There was no way for me to play or record drums… Now that I have my own studio and record drums in lots of great spaces, I still use Trigger to make my drums sound their best. It's truly the ultimate equalizer.
… As a set of high-quality samples for drum replacement these are the win. There are 3 separate files for each sample… The kicks are great… The toms are spectacular… The snares are excellent.
Easy to use. Great drum sounds. I add a duplicate track and mix half natural sound and half trigger sound. Makes the drums sound amazing!
Trigger 2 is the best drum replacement plugin. It's a staple in any serious rock mixer's arsenal.
SSD is a joy to use, hands down the BEST drum software out there!
Using SSD5 mainly with my E-Drums (Alesis Crimson II). Sound quality is amazing and the articulations are great. Overall it does a great job, and especially the mapping that matches my E-Drum.
It's really impressive how good those samples sit in the mix just by loading them into your session and without even touching an EQ or compression. If you're doing a lot of rock, pop, metal — modern stuff where you need punchy, in-your-face drums — Steven Slate Drums 5 won't disappoint you.
... I have used Trigger myself the last few years and I'm really pleased with the result.
Everybody knows that Trigger 2 is an amazing drum replacement, but the gate is wow
